No. The ADA does not require an identification card, and a business cannot demand one to let you in. A card can be a handy way to answer questions, but the access comes from the trained work the dog does, not from any card.

Only two things. Whether the dog is a service animal required because of a disability, and what work or task it is trained to perform. Staff cannot ask about your diagnosis, demand documents or require a demonstration.

No. The ADA does not require a vest, and a business cannot turn you away because the dog is not wearing one. A vest can help signal that the dog is working, but it is optional. The dog must be leashed or harnessed for control unless that interferes with the work or the disability.

Because it builds confidence and helps where different rules apply. Documentation is not a public access pass, and we will never pretend it is. It does help with housing requests and airline forms, and it lets you answer questions quickly and calmly.
